Here are two from Deerwood...a beautiful, wooded corporate park with a couple of lakes, and one from our backyard.  I gotta take my camera for a nice long ride someplace new!! ;)))

 

 

 

 Finally, a day with an interesting sky!  These were made today at the inlet of the Fort George River. 

When you can't go somewhere else to photograph, step into the back yard and see what you can do with what's there. Here are three of those from yesterday.

 

Looking for something new brought me to an area on the east side of the St. Johns River with the most incongruous name: Switzerland!  Specifically to a riverside park named Alpine Grove! What this flat Florida terrain has to do with mountains in Europe eludes me, but I will look into it since there might be a really interesting story there!  Update: "The name derives from the late 18th century and early 19th century New Switzerland Plantation of Francis Philip Fatio, which was established between 1771, when Fatio arrived in Florida, and 1774, when Fatio moved from the New Castle Plantation to New Switzerland."  Obviously, the word 'new' has been dropped.

 

I decided to visit a park on the east side of the Saint Johns River rather than another foray to the ocean.  Here are a few images I liked.

 

 

 

 

A friend recently posted an encouraging suggestion which was to go right ahead and revisit sites that have already been photographed, and find something new.  So, these three photographs are of Sisters Creek which I've photographed several times. These are a bit different 

I think I've made more photographs at Cedar Point than anywhere else since moving to Florida.  I visited again yesterday, and found these four and a wider view of one of them.

After a week's wait for a good sky, I thought I'd see one yesterday, but the morning fog lingered at the ocean, and all remained gray.  But, I shot a roll of film anyway at a salt marsh near Vilano, and at a park further north off Route A1A.  Here are two from the marsh and one from the park. 

I came across these two photographs in a box of old prints. Both are from quite a while ago, but I am still using the same camera and the same cello!  

Here are three from yesterday.  This is a place called Boneyard Beach for obvious reasons! 

All my previous images in a particular folder have disappeared!  There are still a few in a folder I wasn't using, so I worked on this one.  It's from the Rainbow River SP trip we made last  spring.  I have a new group of negatives I will work on today and post them later. Meanwhile...this:

 

So, having made no new photographs during almost all of December, 2024, I went out yesterday, January 2nd, 2025 and finally made some new ones. Here are three from a place I have photographed many times before that are nonetheless a bit different!

Every autumn since moving to Florida, we have rented a cabin in North Georgia's Blue Ridge Mountains. It has always offered a deeply satisfying experience with cooler weather, and compelling terrain. Here are three photographs from our cabin this year. A bunch more to come!  :)
