I finally had a chance to do some photography yesterday albeit in the middle of a bright, clear, cloudless afternoon. That can be visually very boring. However, I thought of an alternative place to go where the sky would not need to be included and the design of the grounded subject would be sufficient to make a photograph. Here are three from a roll of twelve...25% isn't as minimal as one might think!

This is a phone graph of the view from the fifth floor of the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. It's the most attractive and extensive hospital campus I've ever seen encompassing far more than what's in this image. I am NOT a patient there, either, by the way!

Here is a photograph I took six years ago while awaiting a solar eclipse. I was at Jacksonville beach and the sky was just gorgeous! I had posted it on Facebook, and it showed up again as a memory. I don't usually make color photographs, but this was taken with my phone which did a really good job!

Looking in a box of old photographic prints, I came across this that I made sometime in the early  1970s. It's the window of a gallery on the upper east side of Manhattan. I was walking to Central Park on a weekend day with my camera and saw it which surprised me quite a bit!  I've looked for the gallery based on its facade on Google Maps Street View, but had no luck so far.

It's a challenge to find worthwhile photographic subjects in general sometimes, but in one's own yard? These two photographs are of my immediate neighbor's palm trees that often shed fronds and bark onto my driveway, so in a way, they are kinda in my yard! LOL!

August in Florida is usually really hot and humid, but this year it's been especially so. Nonetheless, I persisted (hehe), and made these photographs yesterday, August 11th. The sky was dramatic enough to feel I was not wasting film or my time.

Because road construction made access to this area impossible for at least two years, I've not been able to return. Not much has changed, but the two year absence has rekindled my interest in it. Here are five photographs I made today when access was restored.
