I had not revisited Kingsley Plantation for several years until today.  I didn't think I would find anything different to photograph, but I did. For me, this place is haunted!  I cannot dismiss the reality of the lives that were lived here. Though this plantation was comparatively less cruel and mean than others, the inhabitants were slaves nonetheless whose lives were not their own to lead. I probably won't return again for many more years as I end up feeling very sad...this is a place inhabited by ghosts!

It's interesting how often places I've photographed before change. The pier has no shrimp boat tied up to it which is unusual. The ruin is something I'd not noticed before though I've driven fairly close to it many  times. The river view with trees is a spot I'd not noticed either despite passing it quite often.

Here are more from my Suwanee trip on May 16th.

Thanks to Steven Foster, I've known about the Suwanee River since early childhood. I never thought I'd actually visit it and do so several times. Here are two views of the river from its banks.

I returned to this new place yesterday. The sky was more interesting, and I loved the solitude!

I discovered a new place I've never been to before despite scores of visits nearby.  I intend to return many times when it's visually compelling. I was grateful for these clouds yesterday, though!
