Thistle have to do for now!  Another two from our backyard. 

It's still too hot to go anywhere to photograph and the daily afternoon rainstorms are not making it a good idea either.  So, here again, are three from the backyard.  

It has been wicked hot both here and nationally so far this month.  I found there was some film in one of my cameras and, as I have no interest in going anywhere to photograph in this weather, I finished the roll in our backyard without going anywhere else. Here are two from the roll:

 

I had a lousy day with equipment this week...of all things, my tripod head broke, and one of the tripod's legs lost its shoe. Nonetheless, I finished a roll of 6x6 negatives of which these two are worth posting here.

Returning to places I've photographed before, I continue to find variations that are worthy of being re-photographed.  Here are some from Cedar Point that are just a few of the many I've taken there over the years.

And now for something completely different: COLOR!  These are photographs I made in Autumn of 2000 at a pond near my Croton-on-Hudson, NY apartment. I used Fuji Velvia and never had them printed, but they're easy to scan and present here twenty-four years later!  ;)))

I've recently come across some negatives I made in the late 1970s in Maine.  I taught cello, chamber music and conducted the younger orchestra at the New England Music Camp at that time. We had Mondays off and many of us went to the coast which was always fun...especially the opportunity to eat steamers and lobstah with a pitcher of beer!  Here are several photographs from Pemaquid Point, the rocks below the lighthouse, and a small island off shore. 

At one end of Big Talbot SP is a lagoon that I've not visited for a few years. I just went back and made these which are a bit different than any I've made there before. 

I finally made it to Black Rock/Boneyard Beach which was not at all crowded thank goodness. Here are three photographs from today's visit.

I was so eager to make some photographs on Sunday, May 19th, that I utterly ignored the fact that, 1, it was a Sunday when everyone is free, and 2. that the public schools here had just finished for the year. So...my destination was unavailable as every single parking spot was taken and then some.  So I turned around and stopped a little way back from where I had been to a little spot that was utterly deserted. I've photographed here before, but these three are a bit different. 

Eventually we'll go on a trip that will offer abundant new photographic possibilities, but just now I'm content with the familiar. Here are several from May 3rd in a parking area at Big Talbot Island SP, and several from Sisters Creek. All were taken with my ancient Mamiya C220 TLR and 55 and 135mm lenses. 

Even though I feel a bit burned out photographing the same familiar places as often as I do, they're usually worth the frequent visits when there are so many variables to consider.  These photographs were made yesterday at Cedar Point, two of which employed a 25A red filter which renders blue skies and clouds with enhanced drama!

It's been a few weeks since I last used my camera, but I used it today in our backyard and made these. The single Angel Trumpet image was handheld with my P67 and 135mm lens at 1/8th second at f11 so it's not the sharpest it could be, but I kinda like it a little less crisp anyway!

It was good to return to Cedar Point and be able to see familiar things a bit differently. Despite the ocean and beach being the main attraction, a bit farther away is interesting too.  Here are a few from there.

I've had all kinds of issues to deal with other than making photographs, but yesterday I shot a roll of film and developed it today.  Of the ten negatives from that roll, here is one I like. I was using a light yellow/green filter to keep the new leaves clearly defined, and this was the best I was able to do. This is in our backyard.
