I've not been back to Little Talbot Island SP for a couple weeks, but got there today. Here are three from this afternoon.  I especially like the abandoned shoes!  I wonder how anyone could forget them?

It's been a chore to get to Big Talbot Island SP for the past several months due to road work delays. Yesterday, though, I felt patient enough to wait for the looooong light to change allowing northbound traffic to use the one lane road. I hadn't expected so many cars, but I was able to get the very last parking spot at the trail head leading to Black Rock Beach.  The black rocks are actually a clay formation that is unique to this area I believe. Here are several photographs from that place.

I realize I have so many old negatives I've not printed nor even scanned that I may never have to expose another frame of film!  Of course, I will, but I'm not in any hurry. This first was taken near Muscoot Farm, an interpretive farm near Katonah, NY in 2000.  The other three are from Harriman Park taken that same year.

The boardwalk beside the lagoon at Bit Talbot Island SP is just a couple of years old. It's really well built and a pleasure to walk.  I've not been there when the tide was this low, but it was interesting to see the bleached tree bones that lie on the mud until the tide comes back in.

Coming back once again to a place I've enjoyed photographing many times feels like visiting an old friend. Here for the eleventeenth time are some photographs made today at Ft. George Inlet. It seems to be a cloud magnet, because they're usually the stars of these images.

Today, I took a three and a half mile walk in the woods at Little Talbot Island SP and made photographs along the way.  Here are three from the shaded path.

I've been lucky finding an area that has frequently been interesting.  The road to the Kingsley Plantation has been one of them and these were made there a few days ago.

Looking at more old negatives, I found these of the utterly gorgeous Ashokan Reservoir in upstate New York. I hope I get to return there next time I visit New York when this dreadful pandemic has been gotten under control. I'm also linking a wonderful performance of the music of that name by Jay Unger played by Ben Powell, George Doering, and the late Lynn Harrell.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CIczu7WMOo

I found a file of negatives I made in NY.  According to the sleeve the negatives were in, I made them in February of 2001.  They were all made in Croton-on-Hudson, NY where I was living at the time. It's ao much fun to see snow again, and even more so as I don't have to shovel it at all!!

I've been thinking about returning to Suwanee River State Park for a while now, and today I made the trip.  I've been twice before, and love the place.  Here are some photographs from today's visit.

Tuesday, December 29, 2020

Today began with a featureless, clear, blue sky.  I was willing even at that to see what I could do photographically, but on my way to Fort George Inlet where I've often been visually lucky, the clouds rolled in with enthusiasm!  Here are some from today:

In this Christmas week, it was a challenge to get to Anastasia SP where I made these photographs. Despite Covid concerns about close indoor contact with strangers even with masks, stores and parking lots in shopping areas were slammed as if it were a typical Christmas season. I slowly made my way to the park which was minimally busy, and, being outdoors, comparatively safe.

After my dopey error of a few days ago when I made what I thought were good photographs, but hadn't put film in my camera, today I went back to the same place having made damn sure all was as it needed to be.  Here are a few from today.

Back to boneyard beach at Big Talbot Island SP, an overcast and mild Saturday afternoon at low tide.
