These photographs were made today at Dutton Island Preserve.  I have not been there for several years, but it was worth the trip today.

I decided to make some new photographs yesterday at my preferred site in this area...Cedar Point Preserve. I haven't photographed in the part I explored yesterday, so these are fresh. The day was bright, but lacking the clouds I was hoping for so the sky is just gray but the mud and trees were good as they always seem to be.

As a film photographer, I usually do not make nearly as many exposures (or, in the current parlance 'captures'...which I detest!) as I would if  I were shooting digitally. This recent trip to Tusquittee, NC, however, resulted in 90 frames in a very small area over four days. Here is another group from that excursion. I think there are still more to come!

Our excursion to the hills of North Carolina yielded nine rolls of film I shot in the immediate area of our VRBO. The stream beside the cabin was utterly mesmerizing to listen to, watch, and photograph. So...here are more of the photographs I liked; there may be a few more I'll add later, but this is it for now!

Here's Meadow Creek up close and two bovine neighbors.

And, on the drive home, this mountain view was worth stopping the car to photograph.

Here are several more Meadow Creek scenes.

My wife and I (and our dog) try to get away to the mountains in north Georgia or North Carolina every year. This year's stay was just for a few days in Hayesville, NC at a house next to Meadow Creek which was hypnotically beautiful! I exposed nine rolls of film there and could easily have exposed more. Here are four of them to begin.  There will be more as I develop the film, and scan likely frames.

Cedar Point never fails to appeal to me!  I went there again today and took these photographs which are not dissimilar to ones I've taken before, but they're always at least a little bit different.

I had very little time to process some negatives from last week until this evening.  The subject here is the county dock and the arboreal thicket that lives on shore.

Yesterday, July 21st, I went to Cedar Point to capture what I could see at very low tide. But, I had forgotten my light meter and had to guess at the exposure using the sunny f16 formula that I had to adjust as I was using a number 15 deep yellow filter. When I developed the negatives yesterday afternoon, they wee a disaster!!  I had to throw them away, and I have almost never done that!!  But, today, July 22nd, I went back to the same spot WITH my light meter and took very similar photographs which turned out very well when I developed them earlier today.  Here are three, but there will be more from this roll soon.

The St. Johns River can be quite beautiful when the sky adds its drama to the cypress trees and structures that live there.  Here are two from yesterday....there will be more!

And here's one more from Pumpkin Point that I took on June 7th but just got around to scanning today.
