And probably the last two images from our Hiawassee trip are of the Little Tennessee River gorge. It's quite breathtaking in person!

Another two images from our Hiawassee trip...these were of a tree at the bottom of a very steep dirt road that had a few vestigial leaves I wanted to photograph before they surrendered to gravity.

Our cabin in Hiawassee, Georgia had one gorgeous view that I photographed as often as there were changes that wanted to be remembered.  Here are two those from the deck of our cabin and the dirt road that brought us there.

Susan and I and our poodle, Jax, take at least one trip north to the mountains of Georgia and or North Carolina every year.  This year's adventure was enjoyable albeit not quite as scenic as we'd hoped. On our last day, we visited a park in Young Harris, and Cupid Falls (probably named in acknowledgement of some college kids' canoodling.)  Here are three from that trip.

After having been away from Boneyard Beach for a while, I went back yesterday intending to experiment with certain filters. A Red 25 A darkens blue skies a great deal which makes contrast with white clouds more pronounced and an ND (neutral density) filter can lengthen exposure enough to smooth even mildly turbulent water. Here are several from my visit.

It's a given that photographs preserve the way a place or thing looked at the time it is photographed.  It is somewhat less of a given that it can also convey and reanimate the way a place felt.  These several images do just that for me!  I have visited and photographed at Marineland beach several times before yesterday, but it has been quite a while...I even got slightly lost finding my way there. Here are seven of the ten film exposures I made.

Three more:

It's nice to have a backyard that has features interesting enough to photograph!  Ferns, trees, a fence and a Meyer Lemon tree in the side yard had their portraits made. I didn't even have to get in the car!  ;)

These photographs were made today at Dutton Island Preserve.  I have not been there for several years, but it was worth the trip today.

Thursday, September 18, 2025

I decided to make some new photographs yesterday at my preferred site in this area...Cedar Point Preserve. I haven't photographed in the part I explored yesterday, so these are fresh. The day was bright, but lacking the clouds I was hoping for so the sky is just gray but the mud and trees were good as they always seem to be.

As a film photographer, I usually do not make nearly as many exposures (or, in the current parlance 'captures'...which I detest!) as I would if  I were shooting digitally. This recent trip to Tusquittee, NC, however, resulted in 90 frames in a very small area over four days. Here is another group from that excursion. I think there are still more to come!

Our excursion to the hills of North Carolina yielded nine rolls of film I shot in the immediate area of our VRBO. The stream beside the cabin was utterly mesmerizing to listen to, watch, and photograph. So...here are more of the photographs I liked; there may be a few more I'll add later, but this is it for now!
